Melfar Academy: Meeting the Headmistress

This morning Vogen woke up, he wasn't in his door room. He raised but soon felt pain on his back and left arm, which was wrapped with a bandage. It wasn't bleeding, so he unwrapped it only to notice that there wasn't even a sign of a wound, yet the pain was still there. He looked around, soon realizing that he's in the infirmary. He got up, grabbed the shirt near the bed and moved the curtains. Morgana was sitting near her desk, reading some files. Probably important. As soon as she noticed that he waked, she closed them and placed on the desk, while turning to him. 

"The wounds had heeled, at least one good news here" She said 

"Why does my arm hurt?" He asked hoping she'd know the answer.

"You were in trouble last night, the brothers and Damien had some problems. In order to 'activate' your healing, they broke your arm, but no worries. It'll only hurt for a while. Werewolves healing is fast, but you'll still be weakened from the silver. Despite the fact that I took it out, it'll take a while to fully recover. Nothing serious, you'll have bigger problems. Melfara doesn't seem happy and wants to meet you as soon as you're awake."

"What? The headmistress? Why?"

"Sit down" Sighted Morgana as she pointed a a chair. The boy sat down confused, but from the tone of her voice and the fact that the headmistress of the academy isn't pleased, he didn't expect good news. But also not such a tragedy.

"How bad news?" He asked.

"To be honest. Very bad. You're probably aware that you lost control last night, also other things went out of control. You attacked a student girl, Dorothy" Said Morgana as she looked at the curtains "She's still unconscious. Her wounds still aren't healing, I just hope her body won't throw away the bite"

"What bite? Wait. Don't say it bite her!?" He said surprised. 

"It, you or whatever you call that, the werewolf bit her in her right arm. Damien was able to stop you before you harmed anyone else, the silver knife went quite deep, but not deep enough to kill you. Aijiro and Arashi are both worried about you and Dorothy, we all know it's not anyone's fault what happened last night. Mistakes happen, no one could predict it." She sighed "Akemi also wants to see you, she said she might have some useful information for you, but first Melfara. Don't keep her waiting" 

Vogen didn't say another word, he only looked at the curtains once again before leaving the infirmary and heading down the hallways. It seemed like it was an quite late morning, since the hallways of the academy were empty. The lessons had already started a long while ago, but his mind was bothered with the last night, which he doesn't remember. Only a huge black hole, when he left the dorm and heading to the library. When he arrived in front of Melfara's office he heard voices, two belong to the Vareos twin brothers, but the rest he didn't recognize. Though one sounded really familiar. He knocked on the doors and for a moment silence filled her office.

"Please, chuome in ~chuuu" 

He opened the doors, only to meet another surprise after another. The headmistress was not only a child looking girl as everyone has been telling him, but also other members of the Ashida family gathered in the room. He looked around but his eyes stopped on the young girl sitting in between her parents. He felt anger as soon as she looked at him as well and while clenching his teeth he tried to not show his anger. Her long golden hair was tied into a ponytail, she was covered with bandages and stitches, all over her body, her left eye was covered as well, while most of the bandages were a bit pink from her bleeding wounds. 

"Ashida members, please meet our student Vogen Realenyon" Said Arashi, when the boy walked in "I'm assuming you already know him.

"Vogen!? Not a reunion one could expect, huh?" Samuagi tried smiling, but it soon vanished. "You've change more than I thought you would"

"W-Who...I mean are you really alright?" He asked shocked and worried at the same time. 

"Morgana already took care of the most critical wounds ~des" Said Peatuve "We didn't expect you to wake up so soon, we'll soon be leaving ~des"

"Darling ~arimasu" Started Beavara full of worry "We need to make a choice, no matter the facts, no matter the past events. Thank the ancestors for bringing back Samusagi, Ailuin has no right to question her loyalty ~arimasu"

"I'm only saying what the Queen will say. Besides, Samusagi is no longer a Vareos, for some unknown reasons she's been turned into a banshee, if she returns to the Vareos World, we all known how it'll end ~sedu"

"Father! ~chuu"

"Facts are facts, Melfara ~chiii" Said Masami "We chian't break the law, the Queen is already displeased ~chiii" 

"Are you sure she'll be safe here? ~des?" Asked Samusagi's father, while looking at the twin brothers. His voice was filled with sadness, but mostly with worry about his only daughter. The state she returned in is even more painful, no expected to find her half-alive "I want to make sure, that fucking bastard won't step near her ever again! ~des!"

"Father, I'm not going to stay here!" Protested Samusagi "I don't know, neither this place or the people. What is there's a spy around? They can't be trusted, more they feed vampires! That's unacceptable! He's their lord, they'll betray as soon as he orders them too!"

"Onee-chuan." Started Melfara in sadness "I assure you, this place doesn't have a single traitor. At least none I'm aware of, it's really safe and people chuan be trusted. ~chuu"

"Stil-"

"We have many powerful staff members, you can feel safe around, Samusagi ~eri" Said Aijiro "Also children of vampire hunters, even a girl named Shannon Rex attends the academy ~eri" 

"If any of Von Moriarty's people try stepping in, Beryl will give them even prettier dresses to send the lord. ~eru" Smiled Arashi.

"What my brother wants to say, is that you don't have to worry. Even if he tried to attack, he'll start a war not only with the academy, but with the hunters, Vareos and many others. To not forget that a demon's child also attends this academy, I'm sure their father would gladly join forces to wipe that scum from these lands ~eri" 

"Even Lucifer's son, can't win a war against so many at the same time. I'm sure he's not such a fool to not see that ~sedu" Said Ailuin.

"It's up to you father" Sighed Samusagi "But I won't change my mind, no matter where I stay. As soon as my wounds heal and I learn what a banshee is, I'm leaving. I'll fucking kill that motherfucking dickhead with my own hands!"

"Samusagi! ~arimasu!"

"It's true mother. He's going to pay with blood, for everything, especially for taking away my beloved Aris!" She said clenching her fits in anger "Bloody cocksucker...He'll fucking pay, before my corpse starts rotting on the remains of that cursed castle of his" 

"Akemi, is a banshee as well, she can help you ~eru" Said Arashi.

"For now, heal your wounds and rest, treasure ~des" Said Peatuve patting her head "We're sorry for making you wait, Vogen. Arashi where're the infirmary? My daughter's in a bad state ~des"

Melfara's parents left, while Samusagi's went with her to the infirmary. Vogen noticed that each step was a pain for her, despite the fact that she had tried hiding it from others. He sat in front of Melfara's desk and as soon as the doors closed, the little girl sighed looking at him. She told him what happened last night, as he lost control and the tragedy happened, but surprisingly she didn't blame him for the accident. He still wasn't happy, neither was Melfara. 

"I'm sorry, headmistress" 

"It's not chuur fault. No ones to blame, but as an alpha werewolf I'm aschuing chuu to take responsibility. Akemi told me about werewolves, it seems like a lone wolf won't survive long. ~chuuu"

"I don't have a pack she can join, plus I can't force anyone to join mine, even if I had such power" 

"I heard about Dorothy. She's an unique girl, if she turns into a werewolf, it won't be easy for her. I'm only telling chuu to help her. Not to forchue her to join, but guide her. Chuu're not only an alpha, but also an older friend, whichu she'll need now. Guide her, help and support, like a good leader does. ~chuuu"

"I'm not a leader, I just came here to learn how to control my changes. I still can't control my changes, you know what happens" 

"Don't tell me what chuu aren't and chuan't, tell me what chuu want to be and do. I chuan teach chuu how to be a leader, I chuan show chuou how to bechuome a good alpha. Damien and twin brothers, help chuu with chuur chuanges. Chuu have more knowledge and echuperience, than Dorothy she'll need a mate to help her raise, when she falls. Besides chuu're not only her support, but she's chuurs as well. It works both ways, espechuially for a werewolf, the stronger chuur pack, the stronger chuu bechume as well ~chuuu"

"I guess, you're right." He sighed "It's my fault she's in that state now. But I doubt, she'd be happy to see me around"

"Maybe, but I know that it's good to know that chuu have someone to chuome to when in trouble, someone who's willing to support chuu and whom chuu trust. Not everyone's meant to be a leader, but some have that born within them. That glimpse of hope, the will to raise from the ground and face the enemy, when others give up. It takes time, but I'm sure chuu'll be able to be a good alpha someday ~chuuu"

"We'll see about that." He stopped for a while "May I ask what happened to Sanny-...I mean Samusagi?"

"Sanny? ~chuuu?"

"Sorry, bad habit of mine. We were childhood friends and I kept calling her Sanny, it kinda slipped out. I'm sorry" 

Melfara giggled, then told him the entire story starting from her other personality and ending on the events that happened not so long ago. A day ago Samusagi was found half-alive in the forest, they brought her to the academy, where Morgana took care of her, the wounds will heal eventually, but her memories are filled with confusion and mixed events. It turned out than, she doesn't remember Arisa, her older sister, whom she was forced to kill during a war. She doesn't remember attending the academy, nor Satsu. She told about a boy, childhood friend who was like a brother to her, his name was Aris. Similar to Arisa, but the way she described him, was even more confusing. Dark cat ears, violet eyes, four long cat tails. His hair was blue and arm-long, also his surname was Ouchi-No-Uji. She knows that he's Fumiko's son, but she doesn't know that oddly Kazuhiku and Arisa got mixed in her mind into one, while the new lord Von Moriarty is the one who killed her beloved one and tortured her for many years, before turning into an banshee.

"The churse is too powerful for me, what'a worse is that my family doesn't see it as a bad thing. ~chuuu" Sighed sadly Melfara "I'm not sure how long she'll stay, but she's planning to leave as soon as she dischuovers what a banshee is. I myself don't know what to think, I've never seen her hate someone so muchu she's also, doesn't seem to trust anyone and anything. I don't know, if she's really my cousin or not ~chuuu"

"I think you should be glad." Smiled Vogen "She returned to her family, my father always kept telling me that one shouldn't question miracles, but be glad they exist" 

"I guess chuu're right. I shouldn't think about it too muchu, she back, that's all that matters. I just hope she'll find this place friendly ~chuu"

He left the office, although is doubts had been wiped away, he still wasn't sure about the entire alpha thing. Also the fact that Inora hadn't contacted him ever again, while the events went entirely in a different way. He suddenly felt someone wrapping their arms behind him, he expected it to before the school pet Beryl and was surprised to see Samusagi trying to hide. 

"What the hell!?"

"That's my line! Get that insane cat away from me!" She yelled as Beryl came along "She thinks I'm her wife, also look what she dressed me in!? Sweet lolita dress, really!? Even my own father knows that's not my style!"

"I see you met the school pet faster than I thought" He laughed. 

"Not funny. She's freaking me out, also keeps talking about a dream or whatever is was, when I DON'T know her! Simply: What the fuck!?"

"Nyu look so cute! ~nya" Giggled Beryl as she skipped towards them. 

"Seriously? Do you need glasses or what? In which way do I look cute, with fucking scars covering 90% of my body!?" Beryl hugged her tightly showing how much she missed her 'wife'"H-Hey, cut it out! Stop invading my personal space, please? Pardon? Sit? Fetch? Or whatever command you react to? In Alators name, I fucking hate hugs!"

"You don't have to swear so much."

"Gaah, but she doesn't stop cuddling me!" She cried "Come on, give me a hand. I don't want to her stuck on to me for eternity!"

"She hugs everyone, you'll need to get use to it" He smiled, then patted Beryl who stared purring like good kitty girl she was. "You can pat her she likes it"

"I don't want to"

"I'll give nyu a nyew nyace dress ~nya" 

Samusagi's dress turned into a lovely gothic dress with many skulls and long red black stockings, she looked around at herself taking a good look at the dress, which made her fell more comfortable. 

"This is better, yet I still don't want-" Beryl once again wrapped her arms around the girl "a hug....Well, too late! I'm a victim of the hugging monster! What more wierdos are around here, I wonder? Oh, maybe you know my good friend?"

When Beryl finally got enough hugs and cuddles from her old friend, she left to find another one to play with, allowing Samusagi to take a deep breath. 

"What is that bad?"

"You still ask!? I got almost suffocated!" She sighed "Arashi said you're a werewolf know, it wasn't a joke right?"

"What!? Tch! That bastard" Complained Vogen. "I was planning on telling you...later"

"Meaning: Never" 

"What? No!"

"It's okay, we haven't seen each other since childhood, I'm not mad. Something once lost will never return." She sighed sadly, before a smile appeared "I've changed my bandages, since I'm bored I want to hear about the people here around.....They are creeps" 

Vogen sighed hopelessly, thinking that she has a long way to go. They walked to the canteen, where they sat down and he started telling her about the academy and his work at Sapphire Rose. He first mentioned the teachers and staff members, lovely Lillutu, who likes teasing people, the strange twins brothers, whom are hard to understand sometimes. The powerful Damien, who can scare one at first, but his nicer than appears. School nurse, Morgana, whom Samusagi will be visiting quite often. Beryl, the school pet. And many, many others. Then he told her about the people he meet, about Kanako who's a cute girl and her changing eyes and clips. Ren, his roommate, who's an unique one. The always hyper and excited Majoria Kuro, a boy from something he' never heard or met before. Kanji and Kurai, quite famous demon twins in the academy, then finally about Dorothy and the latest troubles around with her.

"So, you see it's a unusual place"

"I still think it's strange, but the way you talk about people it even more confusing" She sighed, while looking through the window "It all seems...Like a dream. I peaceful place, where people are nice and friendly, where they care and worry about you. It sounds like a shitty fantasy novel"

"Huh?"

"But I'm glad" She smiled "You sound happy and it looks like you're accepted, I'm glad. I've been worried, after...you know, what happened. I'm more surprised, that you're not angry with me"

"Why should I? We're friends, I know you quite well...at least I think so."

"What are you going to do with, that girl...Dorothy?" 

"I don't know" He looked down "I know I should take responsibility, after all it's my fault" 

He felt her hand gently patting his head, like she always did at times, when he was confused. Vogen soon noticed, that Samusagi now may be different, but from the descriptions Melfara told him, he can see that both of her personalities are one. The old and caring one, as well as the other, who doesn't trust anyone and is even harder to approach. Despite her quite poor and worrying look, with bandages covering her wounds and left eyes, a honest smile appear on her face as she leaned on the table between them.

"Don't think about it too much. Unlike me, Melfara is a perfect leader, despite her mistakes, if she'll be your mentor you won't fail" She smiled "You said that you work as a hairdresser, can you do my hair as well?" 

"Why do you want to change it?"

"Um, dunno. Maybe to cover my stitches over my left eyes, huh? It doesn't look lovely, no matter how you look at it" 

"My work will start tomorrow. Visit after lessons, I'll see what I can do"

"Thanks, Vo-kun!" She smiled "I'm glad you attend the academy, I can't imagine myself here all alone" 

"Try making friends then" 

"Don't want to. Besides, what for? I don't need friends, all I need is to know what the hell is a banshee. I hope it won't take too long for me to know that"

"Vogen!"

A girl with blue pigtails walked towards them, along with her friend in long gray hair. It was both Majoria and Kanako, soon Batibat joined them as well and they sat at the table. It was a lunch break and they started a chat about day's lessons and complains on the teachers. Seeing how close they were Samusagi didn't say a word, but kept an eye on them. It didn't take her long to realize Kanako's feeling quite close to her friend.

"Oh, my! Your wounds!" Said Batibat. "Are you really fine?"

"Just pretend they don't exists" She said with a fake smile, trying to hide her annoyance "They'll heal faster than a lighting strike, just don't bother with me" 

"But...it's quite rude" Said Kanako. 

"I see you're quite close to Vogen, isn't that lovely?" Smiled the gold haired girl, while Kanako's eyes and clips turned pink "Oh! Wow! You were right, they do change!"

"You thought I lied?" 

"Ne, Kana-chan" Smiled Samusagi "How further had you two gone? I want a honest answer" 

"W-W-W-What d-d-do y-you mean?" She asked nervously. 

"It's a simple question. I'm just trying to see whenever you're a treat or not, besides me and Vogen, had already slept together, a few times."

"What!?" Kanako's face turned red. "Wait! When? How?"

"W-What the fuck are you talking about Sanny!?" Said Vogen a bit embarrassed of the situation. 

"See, he even calls me in a special way" She giggled "No worries, we were kids that time. What were you thinking that we actually did such thing? Huh? Kana-chan, one might be surprised what's going on your mind" 

"Hey, Sam. Stop teasing her" Said Batibat.

"Fine, I was leaving anyways." She said raising from her seat "Have fun with your friends, or whatever they are" 

As soon as the girl left the canteen, Kanako's eyes and hairclips turned back to normal, while she calmed her racing heart. After a small talk, they left as well heading to their class. The next lesson was chemistry, which for Vogen was the worst subject in the academy, right besides Japanese classes, that language was completely different from any he learned. Luckily the rest lessons ended faster, the last one was with Akemi, who after the classes gave Vogen some tips, which explained him the rules in a pack. He wrote down notes, to keep in mind, then head towards his dorm. 

"OH, great. Don't tell me you were sitting here the entire day?" He complained, when he opened the doors to his dorm. Samusagi was sitting on his bed reading a book and ignoring him for a while "At least try attending one lesson. Miss Akemi might help you"

"Don't want to. I have books, also I like this place. No one bothers me, this place only makes me want to leave as soon as possible"

"Why my room?"

"Because I know you won't give me out, also it's better than a library. Uh. All those vampire there make me feel like on a battlefield. Enemies everywhere" She sighed in disgust "Also, I don't like your roommate...whatever his name was" 

"His name is Ren. Maybe because it's his room as well. Do you know what privacy is?" He sat on the chair near the desk "Try be nice to him and to the rest of my friends"

"It's yours as well and I'm sitting on YOUR bed, he shouldn't complain too much. Also, um....No, they're your friends, I don't mind it. I also don't mind the fact if they like me or not"

"This is pointless" He sighed "Maybe you want to practice your archery? There's a dojo as well, you know?"

"Oh, lovely. But I'm busy now, I'll check it later when no ones around"

He knew that something was wrong with her, she was acting strange, like someone he didn't know. Maybe she was lost? Or didn't feel like home? He didn't bother asking questions, she wouldn't answer. Some things never change, he noticed a bag of bandages near her, then sat on the bed. 

"When did you last time change your bandages?" 

"In the morning, they can last through the night" She said coldly. 

"I don't think so, come on. I'll help you out" He said grabbing the bag. 

"You won't like what you'll see" She said in sadness, while putting away the book and hugging her legs "I don't want to friend to think of me as a monster, it hurts each time the same" 

"I told you, already. Understand, no one wants to harm you here. If you don't change the bandages it'll get worse."

She began unwrapping the old bandages from her arms, then he helped her wrap new ones. She was right, he didn't like the wounds and fresh stitches all over her body and each time he wasn't gently enough, he could feel the pain piercing through her body like a razor blade. He felt useless, trying to help a friend, yet it only makes thing worse. 

"I feel like there's a war inside my head, I don't wants real and what's not there." She sighed "I can't be fixed, why do you keep trying?"

"That's your opinion. Those are good people, they can help you find your way. Someone once told me that the roses reach out to the sky, because of a dream. When a person is hard to reach, someone has to extend their hand to that person to get to them, because of that dream, because they dream that freedom really exists, the roses will look up at the sky when they bloom. I clearly remember my friend saying those words and now that same friends sits in front of me lost and confused, yet still refuses to grab the reaching to her hands. How do you expect the roses to bloom, when you don't give them a chance?" 

"Yeah...I really like roses..." She said with tears in her eyes, but a smile on her face "I want them to keep reaching the sky...I want them to still be adored by everyone..."

"Then allow others to help you. Can you promise me that?" He smiled. 

"Y-Yeah...if you promise to not leave me alone...I'm scared...more than I can imagine...I don't want to be alone..."

"That's something I can do, but only if you let people help you as well."

"F-Fine...But if you're lying to me...I'll beat you to death as well!" She giggled, while wiping her tears.
